A 6ft ice cream cone has been stolen from a Weymouth café.
The Caddy Shack at Weymouth and Portland Rugby Club, which only opened in April, began selling ice cream about a month ago which is when they put up the giant ice cream.
The thief entered the property and was caught on CCTV removing the ice cream from the premises.
Emma Ayles, 46, owner of The Caddy Shack said: “The worst bit is that someone has come onto our property and is snooping around.
“It’s a new thing to show people that we sell ice creams, so we had it out the front so people could see we sold soft whipped ice cream.
“I’m hoping now someone’s going to be stuck with a 6ft ice cream in their garden that they can’t get rid of.”
Ms Ayles shared the CCTV footage on Facebook which was viewed by thousands of people.
The caption said: ‘If anyone hears of anyone trying to sell a 6ft ice cream please get in touch. This person knew it was there as went straight to it.’
She said: “So many people shared it on Facebook, it’s great with social media, so many people shared it.
“This was an Angelito ice cream cone and I haven’t seen one in Weymouth at all.”
She urges whoever has the 6ft cone to “just leave it somewhere so we can have it back.”
