AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a retired police officer.

Emergency services were called to the home of 56-year-old Michael Stuart Rogers following reports he had been found unresponsive on Thursday, August 11.

Dorset Coroner’s Court heard police and ambulance attended the address in Lytchett Matravers.

The retired police superintendent was pronounced dead at the scene.

Coroner’s officer Nicola Muller said police found there were no suspicious circumstances.

Following a post-mortem examination, a provisional cause of death was given as hanging.

Senior coroner for Dorset Rachael Griffin, who presided over the brief hearing at Bournemouth town hall on Tuesday, August 16, adjourned the inquest to April next year.
