RAIL services between Bournemouth and Poole were halted on Tuesday afternoon due to an electrical supply issue.
South Western Railway warned of disruption as a problem with their electricity supply left services between Bournemouth and Poole at a standstill.
Services resumed later in the afternoon but delays continued until around 4pm.
A spokesperson for South Western Railway said: “Damage to a live rail between Branksome and Poole has caused disruption to our services. The line has now reopened but we expect the disruption to continue until 4pm.
“We’d like to offer our apologies to all affected customers for the inconvenience suffered and remind them that if they are delayed for more than 15 minutes, they can claim Delay Repay."
