FIREFIGHTERS rushed to a Dorset field to tackle a blaze involving a hay baler.

Crews from Verwood and Blandford fire Station were sent to the scene in Sixpenny Handley at around 10.30am on Monday, August 15.

The incident involved a fire which had ignited inside a hay baler and left the vehicle completely destroyed.

The fire was extinguished using two hose reel jets. The agricultural vehicle was moved to a safe location to prevent any possible fire spread.

A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said that nobody was injured.
