TWO people have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the 'sudden' death of a man at a property in Poole.

The body of a man aged in his 40s was discovered at an address in Bessborough Road in the Canford Cliffs area just before midnight on Saturday.

A 42-year-old local woman and a 43-year-old man from Wimbledon in London have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Both of whom were known to the victim.

The man’s death is being treated as “unexplained” and enquiries are underway.

A cordon is currently in place while crime scene investigations are carried out.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.48pm on Saturday 13 August 2022 by the ambulance service to reports of the sudden death of a man at an address in Beesborough Road in the Canford Cliffs area of Poole.

“Officers attended and discovered the body of a man aged in his 40s. His family has been informed and the coroner notified.

“At this time the death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are underway into the circumstances surrounding the death.

“A cordon is in place at the address and crime scene investigations, along with house-to-house enquiries are being carried out.

“A 42-year-old local woman and a 43-year-old man from Wimbledon in London have been arrested on suspicion of murder. Both were known to the victim.”

Police said there will be an increased police presence in the area while enquiries are progressed and officers from the local neighbourhood policing team can be approached by members of the community with any specific concerns or issues.
