A GIRLS' football club in Ringwood has reported a soar in sign-ups following the Lionesses win at the Euros.
The Ringwood Town girls' team has welcomed more than 20 new players since the nation watched England win the women’s Euros in July.
Simon Reed, the head of girls' football at Ringwood Town, has reported sign ups of between 20-25 girls since the win, compared to the usual one or two he would sign up in the same period.
He said: “I’ve had the same group of girls for nearly two years. I’m lucky to get one or two, so it’s amazing.”
“It started with the semi-final really, it drew the public’s attention to the female game.
“It’s sort of an emotional time for me being so close to the female game and knowing how much of a struggle it was for me just two years ago to get girls teams playing."

Now, Simon is ready to welcome even more players to the team.
He said: “It’s all about having fun and playing football with your friends”
