BURGLARS stole two motorbikes from a Christchurch dealership in the middle the night.

Dorset Police have launched an investigation over the burglary of Motorbiking in Barrack Road.

Officers located the stolen motorbikes nearby during searches on the morning of Tuesday, August 9.

Residents reported seeing armed police in the area of the Somerford estate at around 3.30am, which is understood to be connected with the incident.

Police arrested three men, who have all been released under investigation.

A Dorset Police spokeswoman said: “We were called at 12.39am on Tuesday, August 9, to reports of a burglary at Motorbiking on Barrack Road in Christchurch.

“Two motorbikes were reported to have been stolen, but were recovered by officers nearby as they searched the area.

“Three men aged 19, 20 and 38 were arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle, burglary and vehicle interference and have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

“An investigation is underway.”
