MULTIPLE fire crews were in attendance at an electrical fire in Sturminster Marshall.

Emergency services said the power is being isolated which could affect power supply in the local area.

A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service spokesperson said: "We've attended a property fire, which had the electric box external to the property on fire and that caught the property alight.

"It affected the cavity of the property so we've done internal and external checks and we should be coming away from the scene very shortly.

"We sent three fire engines and we requested Southern Electric to attend to isolate the electrics to the property.

The Electricity Board were in attendance to isolate the electricity supply to allow removal of the external meter box.

"So the local area, was probably isolated just while the removal of the electricty box took place but it would only have been a temporary thing.

"We've got one crew in attendance at the moment but we've got our stop message in now."
