FIREFIGHTERSÂ raced to rescue a cow which had become stuck in a river yesterday morning.
The fire service said it received a call at 8.45am on Tuesday, August 2, to rescue a cow which was stuck in a river in Fiddleford Mill near Sturminster Newton.
Crews from Sturminster Newton, Blandford and Poole rushed to rescue Megan the cow which had 'found herself in a spot of bother'.
A spokesman for Sturminster Fire Station said: "A combination of crews from Sturminster Newton, Blandford Fire Station and Poole Fire Station spent the morning getting to know Megan a cow that found herself in a spot of bother today after ending up in the river!
"Crews ensured that she was brought back to dry land and checked over by the vet."
