ANOTHER bumper crop of events will be taking place across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole this weekend.

Fireworks, a raft race and spectacular concerts are just some of the events to choose from this weekend.

The weather is looking good, too, with warm sunshine expected across Saturday and Sunday.

Here are some of the events to enjoy.

1. Bournemouth’s free summer fireworks return this Friday at 10pm. Friday’s event will kick off a four-week run of displays which are set to wow the crowds this summer. People will be able to see the fireworks from anywhere along the seafront. The last fireworks display will take place on August 26.

2. After a three-year hiatus, the popular Mudeford Lifeboat Funday is back on Sunday. Between 10am and 6pm at Mudeford Quay, there will be a funfair, stalls, a duck race and, of course, a raft race. The event is free to attend with donations encouraged for Mudeford RNLI. Keep dancing!

3. There will be free dancing on the Pavilion Dance Garden Terrace in Bournemouth’s Lower Gardens on Friday and Saturday evening between 7pm and 9pm. On Friday night, there will be hip hop and house followed by African dance on Saturday.

4. The BSO Proms in the Park comes to Meyrick Park this weekend with two spectacular concerts held over two nights. Friday night will see a Classical Extravaganza with some of the “best classical music ever written” including Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances, John Williams Superman March and Gladiator by Hans Zimmer. Then Saturday night, will see the return of the Queen Symphonic Spectacular. Advance tickets £30 and on the door tickets £35.

5. Families will be able to enjoy some of their favourite films on a big screen in Poole Park. On Saturday from 12.15pm, people can enjoy Hocus Pocus, followed by The Adams Family and a Grease singalong. Then on Sunday, there will be Finding Dory, The NeverEnding Story and Marry Poppins from 12.15pm.

6. Christchurch’s annual jazz celebration, Stompin on the Quomps, returns to Christchurch Quay on Saturday. There will be music from 12pm from the likes of Horns Up Front, The Sarah Bolter Quartet with special guest Nigel Price, The Sara Harris Quartet with special guest Ian Ellis, The Mayans Collective, Trip H Horns and Taverners Big Band with special guest Sam Merrick.

7. A Dachshund Pop Up Café comes to Revolution Bournemouth on Sunday between 10am and 12pm. There will be dog treats, prizes, unlimited free puppuccinos for all the doggies and more. Children under 8 and dogs go free. Tickets available from fatsoma.com/e/9bjfhrfj/dachshund-pup-up-cafe-bournemouth
