A PORSCHE overturned following a crash with a telegraph pole in Ferndown in the early hours of Friday morning with the occupants fleeing the scene. 

Emergency services were called to the scene of the single vehicle crash involving a grey Porsche Macan in New Road around 2am.

Firefighters said the vehicle crashed into a wall, lamppost and telegraph pole.

A Dorset Police spokesperson: "We received a report at 2.07am that a vehicle had been found on its side in New Road in Ferndown.

"It was reported that the road was blocked and damage had been caused to a telegraph pole.

"Officers attended, along with the fire service, and it was discovered that the occupant or occupants of the vehicle had left the scene.

"Enquiries are ongoing to identify and locate them."

Ferndown Fire Station said: “Just after 2am we were called to a single vehicle RTC involving an overturned Porsche which had crashed into a wall, lamppost and telegraph pole - the scene was made safe and left in the hands of the police.”

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service there was spillage on the road and it would be closed for “sometime” until BT attended to make the telegraph pole safe.

Fire crews from Ferndown and Redhill attended. 

The road was reopened at 5.20am.
