TWO people have been arrested after a Land Rover was stolen from a property in Alderholt. 

Dorset Police, together with Wiltshire Police, arrested a 30-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle at an address in Redlynch in Wiltshire on the morning of Tuesday, July 26. 

The Land Rover Defender that was reportedly stolen on Friday, July 22 and has been recovered and, following additional searches in East Dorset, parts of another Land Rover that was allegedly stolen in Hampshire were also recovered. 

The man and woman who were arrested have been released under investigation as enquiries continue. 

Sergeant Lee Turner, of Dorset Police’s Rural Crime Team, said: “This is another example of how we work with our neighbouring forces to relentlessly pursue those reported to be committing offences in our rural communities. 

“Through sharing information with our colleagues in Wiltshire, we were able to take positive action to effect these arrests and progress our investigation.” 

Sergeant Lisa Lovatt, of Wiltshire Police, said: “This investigation should show criminals that we will not allow county boundaries to deter us from investigating and arresting suspects. 

“We have strong working relationships with our neighbouring police forces and will continue to work closely with our colleagues at Dorset Police to protect our communities.”
