INCIDENTS of dog attacks in Mudeford are being investigated by local authorities.

The animal welfare team at BCP Council is investigating reports of two ‘uncontrollable’ dogs in the Mudeford woods area.

It follows a leaflet shared around the town warning residents of two tan Pitbulls which have reportedly attacked “multiple dogs” during walks with their owner.

The dogs are said to be female, and with a blue/teal harness, but without muzzles or leads, and the owner has been described as young and with long brown hair.

The leaflet reads: “These dogs are unable to be controlled and are very unsafe so please do not go near them with your dogs or children.

"If you see these dogs please take a picture of if you know any information about who owns these dogs please send the information to the dog warden with the reference number SRU274178.

“We do not want another dog even child hurt or killed by these dogs.”

A spokesperson for BCP Council said: “Our animal welfare team are currently investigating this matter and will consider action where possible, with dog control order measures if necessary.

“We urge all dog owners to keep control of their pets and act in a responsible and courteous manner to other dog walkers and members of the public.

"Reports of dog attacks on other dogs can be reported to animal.health@bcpcouncil.gov.uk and attacks on humans are dealt with by the police.”
