A MAN has pleaded not guilty over an alleged serious assault in Bournemouth town centre.

Abdulaahi Ahmed Saney Mohamed is accused of unlawfully and maliciously wounding a man with intent to do him grievous bodily harm in St Peter’s Road on Wednesday, June 22.

During a Bournemouth Crown Court hearing on Monday, July 25, Mohamed, 25 and of Brook Court, Dundee, denied the charge of unlawful wounding with intent and a second charge of unlawful wounding.

Judge Stephen Climie set a trial date for December 5 at the same court.

Dorset Police received a report at 10.26pm on June 22 that a man had sustained a stab wound following an altercation in St Peter’s Road.

Officers attended the scene and the injured man was taken to hospital by air ambulance. His injuries were believed to be serious but not life-threatening.

As reported, a 19-year-old local man who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder was released under investigation.

A 27-year-old man from London has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and he has been released on police bail.

A 23-year-old Bournemouth man was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. He was released under investigation as enquiries continue.
