A ‘TECHNICAL issue’ has led to non-essential flying of Typhoon and Red Arrows aircraft being paused.
The Royal Air Force said the move has been made as a “temporary safety precaution”.
An issue has been notified which may affect the safe operation of ejector seats in Typhoon and Red Arrows aircraft.
In a tweet posted at 4.30pm on Friday afternoon, the Royal Air Force said: “We have been notified of a technical issue which may affect the safe operation of our ejector seats in Typhoon and Red Arrows aircraft.

“We have paused non-essential flying as a temporary safety precaution until the situation is better understood.”

Both the Red Arrows and Typhoon are due to fly at this year’s Bournemouth Air Festival which returns between September 1 and 4.
