DETECTIVES are appealing for anyone with information to come forward after a man was charged with burglary offences in the Sherborne area.
Dorset Police received a report at 1.20am on Thursday 14 July 2022 that a man had been disturbed as he attempted to access a first floor bedroom window in Kings Road in Sherborne using a ladder. The man reportedly left the scene.
A 58-year-old man was subsequently arrested and charged with burglary with intent to steal. He will also face the same charge in relation to a similar incident in Milborne Port in Somerset, where a man reportedly gained access through a bedroom window via a ladder.
He was due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 20 July 2022 and will next appear before the same court on Wednesday 24 August 2022.
Detective Inspector Nicky Jenkins, of Dorset County CID, said: “Our investigation is ongoing and I would appeal to anyone with information that might assist our enquiries to please contact us.
“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area of Kings Road in Sherborne during the early hours of Thursday 14 July 2022, or captured anything of relevance on dashcam, home CCTV or doorbell cameras.”
