A 13-YEAR-OLD boy has appeared in court in relation to offences involving the driving of an Audi in Bournemouth.

The Bournemouth boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle taking, using a motor vehicle without insurance, driving a motor vehicle without a licence and driving without due care and attention.

The case was dealt with at a Dorset Youth Court hearing at Poole Magistrates’ Court on July 19.

Court papers stated all of the offences took place on the same day last month.

The boy was referred to Dorset youth offender panel for a contract having effect for six months.

There was an order for a £26 victim surcharge to be paid by his parent or guardian.

He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months, with his driving record endorsed.

Driving bans issued to youths by the courts run from the date of being issued rather than from the date that an individual can first obtain a licence.

The endorsements are placed on a non-licence holder record by the DVLA and should the person obtain a licence when of appropriate age, their non-licence endorsements will go on the record of their actual licence.
