A DRUNK man lay down in the street “in protest” outside a Bournemouth hotel on Saturday evening.

Police said the man had tried to gain entry to the hotel where he didn’t have a booking.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Officers have dealt with an intoxicated man who was trying to gain entry to a hotel where he didn’t have a booking.

“He laid on the floor in protest. Officers returned him to the hotel he has a booking for over the road.”

It was one of the many incidents Dorset Police documented on social media during its #DorsetPoliceLIVE campaign to highlight the work of its officers.

A search was also carried out for a missing 11-year-old girl on the seafront who was later returned.

A dispute between a taxi driver and another driver also reportedly occurred following a “minor” crash.
