“MULTIPLE” drivers were arrested on suspicion of drink driving in Sandbanks at the weekend.

Police said “several” arrests were made by police patrolling the area during what was a busy weekend in the area with two big events taking place, coupled with warm weather. 

A Poole Police spokesperson said: “Multiple drivers were arrested for drink driving after attending the event and attempting to drive home.

“Further to this, officers were proactively searching members of the public where grounds existed in an attempt to disrupt local drug supplies.”

During the weekend Sandpolo and Sandfest took place in Sandbanks.

The spokesperson said most attendees had “engaged in good natured fun”.

They added: “We would like to thank all staff involved in the event and local residents for their cooperation during the running of the event.”
