A 17-year-old boy from Poole was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs, as £10,000 worth of drugs was seized. 

Police officers arrested the boy at Winton recreation ground on Tuesday, July 5 where he was also arrested for assault by beating an emergency worker and failing to surrender to bail.

A large quantity of suspected drugs, believed to have a street value in the region of £10,000, was seized, along with suspected drug paraphernalia. 

The arrest was part of Dorset Police’s crackdown against suspected drug misuse, nicknamed Operation Viper.

Officers also carried out around 15 safe and well cuckooing checks on vulnerable individuals, seized a car and arrested a 19-year-old Poole man for failing to surrender to bail. 

A 33-year-old man, also from Poole, was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis. 

The 33-year-old man has since been charged and is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Monday 25 July 2022. 

Sergeant Dan Cullen, of the BCP neighbourhood enforcement team, said: “We are continuing with our sustained activity to disrupt the efforts of those who are suspected of being involved in the supply of illegal drugs in our communities and work closely with our local neighbourhood policing teams to respond to reported activity in our area.
