AN INVESTIGATION is underway to find the owner of a dog which injured a man by biting him in the leg in a field in Bournemouth.

Just before midday on Thursday, June 30, the victim – a man aged in his 30s – was walking in the patch of green field off Broadway Lane near Taylor Drive.

A dark long-haired German Shepherd, which was on the grass with a woman in her 20s, spotted him and ran over. The dog was described as being “very aggressive” before biting him on his upper leg causing a puncture wound.

The woman is described as short and of large build with long brown hair. She did not offer her details to the victim.

Officers investigating the incident are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Jennie Sykes, of Dorset Police, said: “I am appealing for the woman to come forward so I can confirm the full circumstances of the incident. Also, if anyone recognises the woman or dog from the description given, please contact me.”
