FIREFIGHTERS had to extinguish a blaze on a Bournemouth heathland on Saturday evening.
A crew from Poole Fire Station was called to reports of bushes on fire at Turbary Common.
The incident took place on the site of special scientific interest shortly after 6pm on July 2.
The firefighters used hose reel jets, a main line and hydrant to deal with the fire.
BCP Council describes Turbary Common as "one of our most important nature reserves" and the largest area of heathland in north Bournemouth.
There are many rare and important wildlife species that live on the site, including Dartford warblers, long-winged conehead crickets and all six species of British reptile.
