POLICE have sent out a warning message after volunteers clocked 63 speeding drivers in a one hour period in Ringwood.
Volunteers from the community speed watch groups in Poulner and Hightown monitored Crow Lane on Friday, July 1.
A spokesperson from Ringwood Police said the session was 'especially shocking'.
"Our volunteers checked 232 vehicles within a 1 hour period, 63 of which were recorded as going over the 30mph speed limit, and 35 of those going 35mph or faster," the spokesperson said.
"These speeds are much too fast in these residential areas - as always please remember it's a speed limit not a target, and it is in place for a reason.
"Your excessive speed could cost somebody their life, and could lead to you facing time in prison, for the sake of shaving 5 minutes off of your journey.
"Many thanks as always to our dedicated volunteers for helping to make our roads a safer place."
