POLICE have praised a Bournemouth resident for their actions responding to a burglary.
Officers were called out to an incident in Springbourne on Friday night.
A resident from Jefferson Avenue called the police to report a suspected burglary.
Officers praised the 'vigilant' neighbour for spotting the incident and contacting police.
A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "Following the report of a vigilant neighbour in the Springbourne area overnight, we have managed to locate and arrest a male suspected of being involved with a burglary to a garage and also rummaging around in an insecure vehicle.
"After running from officers, he was located hiding in a nearby car parking area and is currently residing in our custody block.
"We have spoken to those we know were affected by this incident, but if anyone else has been a victim overnight please report this via website https://crowd.in/r9EZbn or on 101."
