A MAN from Poole has been handed a court bill of more than £350 for breaking a 20mph speed limit by 4mph in central London.

Haydar Bulut, aged 52 and of Poole Road, Branksome, was alleged to have committed the speeding offence on the A5201 Old Street near Tilney Court eastbound on October 6 last year.

He was accused of driving a Skoda shortly after 10.30am at 24mph, which was caught on a speed camera.

The case was dealt with through the single justice procedure at Bromley Magistrates’ Court.

A lone magistrate sitting in a closed doors hearing found the offence against the defendant to be proved.

Bulut, who was not present at court, was fined £220 and ordered to pay a £34 surcharge and £100 costs.

His driving record was endorsed with three points.
