A BOURNEMOUTH business has helped to beat a world record for the largest parade of ice cream vans.

Big Chief Ices took six of their ice cream vans to Goodwood racetrack earlier this month to take part in the WALLS 100th Anniversary Worlds Record attempt.

The previous record for the worlds largest parade of ice cream vans, set in 2018, involved a chain of 84 vans.

Big Chief Ices joined forces with other catering businesses and together, were able to set a new record with an incredible 98 vans lined along the racetrack.

A spokesperson for company said: “We are all very proud of what we achieved.

“We took six of our vans from Ensbury Park Road along in convoy all the way up to Goodwood with Jims Ices and many more.

“Most of us travelled a long way and left our own yard at 4am. Many others from around the country even left at 2AM, but it was most definitely worth it for all of us.”
