Police, ambulance and fire services were called to the scene.
The incident caused delays for motorists after the road was closed between Canford Bottom and Lake Gates roundabout.
National Highways advised drivers to avoid the area completely, warning of long delays and a prolonged road closure.
The lorry was recovered by National Highways overnight on Friday.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said at the time: “A police-organised recovery agent will be on scene at 7.30pm. A full road will be put in place from 9pm with diversion in place so the lorry can be recovered.”
The lorry has now been recovered and its contents has been moved to the closest layby ready for collection.
