MEMBERS of the public have been invited to Christchurch Priory to see three young falcon chicks.
The Peregrine Day, hosted by the Christchurch Harbour Ornithological Group (CHOG) in partnership with the Priory, will allow people to see the recently fledged Peregrine chicks.
It is the first time in decades Peregrines have successfully nested on the Priory in Christchurch.
The event will take place between 10am and 4pm on Saturday June 25, with visitors able to view the chicks through a telescope, and ask questions about the species.
Paul Turton, photographic editor at Christchurch Harbour Ornithological Group, said: "The day is to promote the Peregrine Falcons at Christchurch Priory, make people aware of them, try and help people learn a little, and let them be viewed via birdwatching scopes so that they can be seen close up.
"It is the first time in modern history that they have need on this building, certainly as far as anyone can remember.
"There are 5 birds visible throughout the day, two adults (male and female) and 3 juveniles that have recently started to fly."
