TWO parcel delivery vans were seized one after another by officers for separate road offences.
Dorset Police Traffic Unit officers operating in East Dorset first seized a van for no insurance and instructed the driver to call a colleague to collect the cargo of parcels.
Upon arrival, the second van was found to have two tyres in a non-roadworthy condition and was subsequently prohibited from further travel.
On Saturday, June 18, a Dorset Traffic Cops spokesperson said: “To the good people of East Dorset we apologise for any delay in getting your deliveries this morning, but with good conscience and for the safety of all other road users we couldn’t let either vehicle carry on their journey this morning.
“The insurance aspect should be known by all drivers and the condition of those tyres should have been quite clear to the driver.
“Please check your vehicles before you drive them.”
