A MAN has been arrested after reportedly shouting homophobic abuse at another man.

Police investigating the incident, which occurred on Bournemouth beach, have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

At around 8.20pm on Saturday, May 28, it was reported that a man at the party was shouting homophobic abuse at another man.

A 28-year-old man from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public order. He has been released under investigation as officers continue to carry out enquiries.

Police Constable Zachary Dredge, of Bournemouth police, said: “Dorset Police takes all reports of hate crime very seriously. We have been carrying out a number of enquiries into this incident and I am now appealing for anyone who saw what happened to please contact us.

“I appreciate this incident was some time ago, but it was busy on the beach that evening and therefore someone may have information that might assist this investigation.”
