Releasing a statement after the incident, Morebus operations manager Mike Freedom said nobody on-board the bus was injured and they were providing support for the driver, who did “everything possible to avoid the collision”.
Dorset Police, providing an update, said investigations were still ongoing into the incident.
As reported, sergeant Sarah Jones, of the police traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who sadly died at this extremely difficult time for them.
“We owe it to them to establish the full circumstances of what happened and our investigation into this collision remains ongoing.
“I would continue to encourage any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to please contact us.”
