FIREFIGHTERS have been called to tackle a heath fire.
Crews from Dorchester, Wareham Fire Station, Poole Fire Station and Bere Regis Fire Station were called to attend a heath fire in the Winfrith area at 11.27am.
A spokesman for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said that two pumps were sent to the blaze, one from Wareham Fire Station and one from Dorchester. One water carrier from Poole was also sent alongside one Land Rover from Bere Regis and a unimog from Wareham.
She said: "The fire has been extinguished but some crews remain in attendance dampening down the area."
No casualties were reported.
