AN UNAUTHORISED Traveller encampment has vacated the grounds of a Bournemouth leisure centre.
More than a dozen caravans and vehicles had moved onto the land around Queen's Park BH Live in Queen's Park Drive earlier this week.
As reported, BCP Council officers were aware of the encampment and had been liaising with Dorset Police on the situation.
A force spokesperson said they received a report late on Wednesday, June 8, and officers attended the site.
Council staff carried out visits to ensure statutory welfare, educational needs and risk assessments.
The encampment was still on the site on the morning of Friday, June 10, however, by 4pm the location had been vacated.
The leisure centre has been closed for months. Fencing was placed in front of its entrance in an attempt to stop people using the parking areas.
