A special art exhibition is being held at the Haven Hotel in Sandbanks to help raise funds for and awareness of motor neurone disease.

The event is also a tribute to Poole mum Annie Allen who died of MND last June. She was 56.

Her brother Cliff Towler is one of the artists exhibiting.

Cliff said: "It's now a year since Annie left us and this exhibition is one way in which we are marking the anniversary.

He added: "I will be exhibiting with three contemporaries in association with Art4Action to raise funds and awareness for MNDA.

"A percentage of sales will go to MNDA and I have also set up a JustGiving.com appeal."

The exhibition takes place on Friday 24th June (evening), Saturday 25 June 10am to 6.30pm and Sunday 26 June 11am to 5pm.

Annie became a 'poster girl' for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, highlighting the cause throughout the five years she battled the condition.

Mr Towler described his sister as "one incredibly special lady."
