THE CLIFF in Poole is set to reopen this month after undergoing a significant investment to give the pub a new look.

The Cliff will have a brand-new menu, which will feature fresh flavours and ingredients when it opens on June 18.

The food will be prepared by Semavi Halilov, who has been with the pub for five years.

Dishes include rotisserie pork belly, steak and a dedicated vegan menu. A range of small plates are designed for sharing, such as Asian-inspired bao buns, chipotle sticky chicken and king oyster mushrooms.

The interior space of the pub has also been completely revamped, with fixed seating, wine walls and fabric screens.

The new decor is inspired by the pub’s location next to the sea, with elements nodding to the underwater gods and goddesses from Greek mythology, such as the new bar front featuring a striking 3D tile in sea green.

The outside area has also undergone a huge renovation, with fixed seating now running the full length of the garden, with feature cushions and throws.

General manager, Ian McQuade said: “Our team, with old and new faces, are ready to reopen the doors and welcome everyone back to our hidden gem in the heart of the Canford Cliffs.

“I’ve been at The Cliff for over 6 years now, and I’ve been truly overwhelmed by this transformation, it looks incredible, and I can’t wait for our first guests to walk through the doors.

“Our regulars needn’t worry; we might have a sophisticated new look throughout, but you can still enjoy gathering round our crackling fireplace in the winter.

"The Cliff also now boasts a brand-new private dining area in the restaurant which is ideal for intimate gatherings, and a beautiful new garden for guests to enjoy in the warmer months.”
