Police have warned people to take care of their phones after multiple reports of mobiles being stolen at night in town.

It comes after one victim told the Daily Echo her phone was taken while she was at Bar So last weekend (June 4).

Dorset Police said they received a report at 2.54pm on Sunday, June 5 relating to the theft of a mobile phone in Bournemouth.

It was reported that the phone was believed to have been stolen at around 12am in Bar So in Exeter Road.

The victim also reported a number of other phones had also been stolen from the location.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "Enquiries into the matter are ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time."

The Daily Echo contacted Bar So but they declined to comment.

Bournemouth Police posted on their page on Friday warning people of the spate of thefts in the town centre.

A spokesperson said: "Dorset Police have received multiple reports of theft of mobile phones in Bournemouth town during the evening hours.

"We would like to advise everyone to not put your phone in your back pocket and to make sure your bags are zipped up.

"We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend."
