A MAN from Christchurch has been fined by the courts for speeding at 89mph on a motorway in Birmingham.
Michael McCabe, 60 and of Fairmile Road, was alleged to have driven a Vauxhall motor vehicle on the M42 between junctions 3A and 4 northbound on January 19 in excess of the 60mph limit.
The defendant’s speeding in a 60mph was clocked by an automatic camera at 10.49am, court papers stated.
McCabe pleaded guilty through the single justice procedure and was not required to attend the Birmingham Magistrates’ Court closed-doors hearing on Monday, June 6.
A lone magistrate issued a fine of £120 along with a £34 surcharge and £95 costs.
The offender’s driving record was endorsed with six points.
