Police are investigating after a woman was attacked by a man in Poole.
Police received a report in the early hours of Tuesday morning that a woman had been assaulted by a man at an address in Hill Street, Poole.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "The man and woman are known to each other.
"Officers attended and the female victim was taken to hospital for treatment.
"An investigation is underway, led by detectives from Bournemouth CID, and a cordon is in place to allow officers to carry out an examination of the scene."
Forensic officers are at the scene and a police officer is standing at the cordon.
