IN AN ever changing world, one thing that stays stunningly predictable is the amount of litter and care free trashing of our beach during the summer months.

Five hundred meters to the left and right of the pier resembles a landfill site at 8pm in the evening and should be considered a national embarrassment.

Why is it that European beaches are as clean in the evening as they are in the morning, whereas British beaches, quite frankly, end up looking disgusting?

We seem to live in a society of excuses and a feeling that someone else will clear up after me. Hopefully after the jubilee people may start making an effort to clean up the country and restore some pride.
