ARMED police were deployed following a concern for welfare incident involving a woman in Poole.
Several police vehicles, armed officers and paramedics attended Millstream Close in Creekmoor after being alerted at 5.49pm on Wednesday June 1 to reports of a concern for welfare of a woman at an address in the road.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “Officers, including specially trained negotiators, attended the scene and the matter was brought to a safe conclusion just before 8.30pm.
“The woman was taken to hospital to receive the appropriate care.”
A section road was closed off to access while armed officers entered a property in the road and residents were told to stay indoors while the incident was ongoing.
The road has since reopened and the area is safe.
