A DRIVER reportedly left the scene of a crash which saw their vehicle hit a tree.

Officers from the Dorset Traffic Cops team responded to a yellow convertible that had left the road before crashing into a tree in the Matchams area.

A driver had reportedly left the scene but was located safe and well a short time later.

The incident was one of many to take place over a particularly busy weekend for Dorset Traffic Cops.

Officers stopped a silver 4x4 for some “questionable driving” on the A338 in Bournemouth, only to find the driver to be a provisional licence holder with no insurance.

Also in Bournemouth, officers received information that a black BMW 6 may have been driving uninsured. The team found the vehicle still running but the driver had left the scene. The vehicle was seized, and enquiries are underway to identify the driver.

A black BMW 1 series was stopped in Poole after reports it was being used without insurance. The vehicle was seized and a person was reported for alleged motoring offences.

In another incident, a black Mini was found on its side minutes after a collision in the Wimborne area. The driver reportedly failed a roadside breath test.

Dorset Traffic Cops have asked for people to come forward with any information they may have in relation to any of the incidents.
