A DRIVER was found to be three times over the drink drive limit after members of the public reported seeing him “stumble” into his vehicle.

At 11am on Monday, May 30, Dorset Police No Excuse officers were called to Norrish Road car park, just off Ashley Road in Poole, after concerned witnesses reported a male stumble to a vehicle and get in the driver’s seat while looking “worse for wear”.

Officers located the vehicle a few minutes later with the male in the driver’s seat. He then admitted to driving earlier that morning before failing a breath test.

A short time later he blew 114 and 117 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres while at Bournemouth custody – more than three times the limit.

A No Excuse spokesperson said: “The male will spend some time sobering up in our cells before being charged to court. Already on nine points, he’s looking at a long period off the roads.”
