A MAN required hospital treatment after being allegedly assaulted while walking his dog in Poole.
A teenager has been arrested following the incident at around 4pm on Wednesday, May 18.
The victim, a man aged in his 40s, was walking his dog in Hamworthy Park when he was reportedly verbally abused by a group of young people.
The victim was subsequently assaulted by a male member of the group and sustained an injury to his arm which required hospital treatment.
Following enquiries, a 15-year-old boy from Poole was arrested in connection with the incident. He has been released on police bail while the investigation continues.
Investigations Officer Steve White, of Dorset Police, said: “We have now obtained a full account from the victim and our enquiries are continuing into the incident.
“I understand the park was busy at the time of the alleged assault and I would urge anyone who saw what happened and has not yet spoken to police to please come forward.”
