A LARGE police presence responded to an assault on two men in Poole.

Dorset Police has launched an investigation of the incident, which took place shortly before 1pm on Tuesday, May 24, in the area of Queen Anne Drive.

It was reported the two male victims had been threatened and assaulted by a group of four men, who had left the scene in a vehicle.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended and following enquiries one man has been detained in the area of the Ferndown Industrial Estate. Enquiries remain ongoing.

“The two victims were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.”

Witnesses reported seeing multiple marked and unmarked police cars in Queen Anne Drive, along with ambulance service vehicles.
