A MAN has been fined £1,000 after being caught drink driving at around three times the legal limit on the A338 Spur Road.

Pawel Chlebos was alleged to have committed the motoring offence at the wheel of an Audi A3 on the dual carriageway on March 14.

The 31-year-old pleaded guilty to the single charge of drink driving and appeared in the dock at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 20, for sentencing.

Court papers stated that Chlebos, whose address was given as Library Road, Ferndown, provided a sample which contained 106 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

Alongside the hefty fine, magistrates disqualified the defendant from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 26 months.

He was also ordered to pay a £100 surcharge and £85 costs.
