A DORSET man fell asleep on the train – and ended up getting arrested on a court warrant and appearing before Oxford magistrates.

Lee Turner, 34, failed to turn up at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, May 18, to answer an allegation of breaching his suspended sentence order.

The Bournemouth man is accused of failing to attend probation service in February and March.

Wearing a grey tracksuit jumper and jeans, Turner, of Westover Road, appeared before Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Saturday morning when he was not asked to enter pleas to the suspended sentence breach.

He told the bench: “I fell asleep on the train and I’m going to struggle getting back because I’ve got no money.”

Turner was reassured that he’d be provided with a return ticket to the seaside town. He was bailed to attend court in Poole on Wednesday, May 25.
