LIFEBOAT crews rushed to help the medical evacuation of a patient from Green Island.
Poole Lifeboat RNLI volunteers were requested to launch at 10.10am on Thursday, May 19, to Green Island, which lies in the central south part of Poole Harbour.
Volunteers were soon on scene and assisted the ambulance team with casualty care and transferred the casualty onto the lifeboat along with a doctor from the air ambulance.
The casualty was brought back to the lifeboat station and transferred to the care of the paramedics, who were standing by at the station to take the casualty to hospital.
The lifeboat volunteers washed down, refuelled and were ready for service by 11.45pm.
