A MAN who damaged the main glass doors at Bournemouth Town Hall has been sentenced in court.

Nicholas James Damen, aged 39, was alleged to have committed the criminal damage at the civic building in Bournemouth town centre on April 23.

Damen, of no fixed abode, appeared via live link for sentencing hearing at Poole Magistrates’ Court on May 17 having pleaded guilty to the single charge last month.

He also admitted breach of a conditional discharge order made for a period of two years at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on April 20 for another criminal damage offence.

The defendant was issued with a 12-month community order, which included a requirement to take part in up to 20 days of rehabilitation activity.

Damen was also ordered to pay £432 compensation to BCP Council.
