POLICE are appealing for information following two reportedly connected assaults on a teenage girl and a witness.

Police investigating the two assaults in Wimborne are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

At around 5.10pm on Monday, April 25 a confrontation took place outside Co-op in Crown Mead involving a man and a group of teenage boys and girls.

It is reported that one of the teenage girls was assaulted by the man during the incident. It is also alleged that a witness was pushed by the same man when she challenged him inside the store.

Neither the girl or witness sustained any physical injuries.

Police Constable Samuel Kinsella, of Dorset Police, said: “This incident took place in front of a number of people, and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident and has not yet spoken to the police to please get in touch.

“I would urge the man involved in this incident to please contact me as it is important for me to take a full account of what happened.”
