A CAMPERVAN described as a part-time home was stolen by thieves from outside a home in Dorset leading to a desperate appeal from its owner.

The blue Volkswagen camper was taken in the early hours of Saturday morning, containing all its owner's worldly possessions.

Now, Richard Palmer, who owns the vehicle has issued an appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

CCTV shows the vehicle being driven slowly up a road and before a person gets in the passenger side and it drives off.

“It’s almost like I’ve had my house and vehicle stolen at the same time", he said.

On the night of the incident, Richard had been staying with his partner in Alderholt, with the vehicle parked outside.

He added: “Everything was in there apart from the clothes I was wearing when I went into my partner's.

“I had an interview on the Friday and they needed ID, so I also had my birth certificate and passport in there.

“One of the few nights I wasn’t sleeping in the van, and it got stolen.”

Richard told the Daily Echo that he has been able to obtain CCTV footage of the incident.

He said: “Two guys have parked at the end of my road, they get out, walk to my van, get in, roll it and start it, and then they leave. It was all within 2 minutes.”

Now, Richard is desperately calling for people to come forward with any information.

He has taken to Instagram, where he runs an account called Adventures in my Van, to alert people to the theft.
